I like the 22 WMR for fox whats out there?

If I was going to buy a semiautomatic 22 rimfire for predators it would have to be a 22 WMR. I know Gerry Blair use to use a a 22 WMR semiautomatic all time so I know they do or did make them.. Do you think the gun mfg will start to turn out 22 WMR semi rifles for the hunting community? What is out there now that is 22 WMR semiautomatic.. Would be nice if they came in 22 Hornet or 17 Hornet!

People like the Savage A22 from what I'm hearing. The .22 wmr is hard on blowback actions. A lot of pressure there and that has led to durability problems. Maybe Savage has something figured out?

Yes, my understanding is they found a way to delay the action at the beginning of the movement when recoil impulse is at it's highest. That's why they label it "Delayed Blowback".

uncle buck,

for S&G, you could try:

Kel-Tec CMR-30

but good luck finding a 5 round mag!!

On a more serious note, along with Savage's offering, you could try:

CZ 512

OR:

Magnum Research 22 WMR

which is actually a gas assisted blowback.

Good old fashion bolt action and the original W/W 40 fmj or HP will take care of all you small game and predator problems in easy fashion..the original shells are still the best...they will take care of coyotes also to 75 yards..now if you can only find them...

i am looking at the savage A22 and the Magnum Research 22 mag.

Magnum Research states you can not use 30 grain rounds in their gun. Bryce Towsley says the Savage A22 is the most accurate he has ever shot.

there is no mag capacity for the semi auto regs unless its for deer. (meant to say Big Game, not just deer)
