Re: Hi-Point 40 S&W?
I didn't think I'd care for the hi point as well, but after sending my ruger back 3 times with no fix, and spending about $100 at the local smitty to get it fixed, I have about $460 wrapped up in a package I still don't trust, and if I aim 12" low, and 6" to the left, I may hit what I'm aiming at. I like ruger's rifles and wheel guns, but I'll never entertain the thought of owning another one of their autos.
One day I had $140 burning a hole in my pocket, and figured why not? I now have a gun made in the USA, with a lifetime factory warranty. I took it out back, ran 200 FMJ's through it, never jammed. I tried some HP's with less than good results. I stripped it down, and polished the feed ramp, put it back together, and now it will eat anything I feed it. It's pretty accurate considering the price, and yes, it's big, and it's ugly, but as long as it goes bang when I pull the trigger, who cares?
I've found that most people who bad mouth them, have never even fired one, and if nobody is willing to try them, I guess they'll be kept a secret.
