Ruger American Compact

Just picked one up in .223. Gonna give it to my son for Xmas. He's been using a hammy down .222. I like it so much I might pick one up in .22-250. It shoulders so nice and is so lite and handi.

16 years and counting. Welcome to the life of a Buffalo Bills fan!

Youngin was ecstatic this morning. Smile from ear to ear. Already asked about getting a brand new scope. I told him your birthday is in Feb, be good, and we'll take a trip to the shop.

You shouldn't be typing......you should be on the way to the range with your son to try out his new rifle.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Handy little rifles! My wife has a RAR Compact in 7mm-08 and absolutely loves it. I mounted a Redfield 2-7X on it. First time with it at the range, after shooting a nice, tight group, she looked up at me with a smile and said, "I've found MY rifle." That brought a smile to my face as well.
Another thought: as your son grows, you can purchase a full-length stock for it from Ruger for about $50 or less.
