Re: 7MM-08 or 308

i think the diff is nil. 308 wins for me cause of cheap, available ammo and lots of guns chambered in it. i own both though.

My diploma is a DD Form 214

Re: 7MM-08 or 308

Have both but haven't harvested anything with either yet. Had to change my 7mm/08 load from 139 gr Hornady to 120 BT's. Too cold for a range trip so far.

Re: 7MM-08 or 308

7mm-08 is my favorite only because, I've never owned a 308. I bought the 7mm-08 years ago and never looked back...

Shoots well, recoil isn't bad, and it does a great job on deer.

Re: 7MM-08 or 308

Half a poiund of one or six of the other...there is basically no difference between the two..the .308 will handle heavier slugs but with not much velocity.. 140 vs 150 for deer...I don't think the chest cavity of a whitetail or black bear would much notice...

Re: 7MM-08 or 308

between the 708 and the 308 i pick the 308 simply because all the readily avail cheap stuff for the 308. but i like em all, 243,260,708, 308, ect., etc.

Re: 7MM-08 or 308

I've had both of them and currently am not really enamored with either. I like long action cartridges far more. But if I had to choose between the two I'd pick the 7-08 because it's a flatter shooting round. But I'd so much rather have a .280 or a 7 mag.
