how much $ for an adl or bdl old vintage in 7mm ?

I am toying around with buying a remington 700 in 7mm rem mag off of the used market. How much can I expect to spend? I would like a gun that is blued with a wood stock or a stainless gun with the detachable magazine. I don't want any rust on the action but a small freckle or two on the barrel wouldn't be a deal breaker neither would some dings on the stock.

I think you're looking for the right cartridge for that rifle. Remington 700 and the 7mm Rem. mag go together in my mind as well as Win. 94 and .30-30 do. If I ever get another 700 it will be in the Big 7.

I would get an older 700. IMO, they shoot better and can be had for $400 and much less. Stainless a little more. The classics are the best looking 700s IMO but I dont know if they ever chambered in 7mm RM or not. Even newer ones can be had for $400 or even less. They are not that expensive even brand new and there are tens of thousands of them out there. I 'think' they are the best selling bolt of all time. I dont know of any 700s with detachable magazines.

Not mine. Found these guns in 5 minutes on Gunbroker and they have no bids. If you can wait, you can find good deals locally and sometimes on the net. Look in your local trade paper. No shipping and can work on a price. These are decent deals. Again, not mine and I dont know seller.

Also....

If you are not dead set on a 7mm RM, look at this gun. If you hunting deer only, this gun will kill them with zero issues. I know, I have one of these and it is one of the most accuarte rifles I have ever owned. I think this was made at a time when 700s were at their peak of quality. IMO of course. This is a rare gun. Classics are sweet. I dont know seller, just a post.

I don't want anything smaller than .284 caliber. In fact I might not even want a big boomer except some all knowing agencies think that I can't kill an elk with my 25-06.

Ill throw my 2 cents out there. Yes, 700 can be had all day long with detachable magazines. No, you wont find clean and well kept 700's in 7 mag all day long for less than 400. yes they exist, especially the sythetic ADL guns. But, more often than not, 400-600 bucks is standard. If you are patient and keep an eye open, rockin deals can be had.

No problem with throwing your two cents in. In this case your probably right. The one that i'm going to look at is 400 dollars and there are two on gun broker right now in the blued configuration for that.

Here's an idea. Maybe buy the 700 you want with a toally beat stock. Than grab a stock off of gunbroker and you have one good as new for cheap. Dont get me wrong, both pieces of the puzzle have to be a good deal for you to come out on top, but ive done it a time or two and come out ahead.
