Any Savage 99 or Pre 64 Model 70 Collectors Here?

All:

I have been a Savage 99 and pre 64 Model 70 collector/shooter for about 6 years now. I am new here and was wondering if there are any other collectors of these firearms on this forum? Never hurts to know more people in case you have a question.

Note: I already know about the Savage Collectors forum on the 24hourcampfire.com.

Take care,
MichiganHunter

Best advice I can give is learn as much as you can. I don't collect 99's, but I do collect 70's. Its a great hobby and a great investment. Not to mention they are a piece of history. Read lots of books on them do a lot of net research. The more I've learned the easier it is to find things that people try and cover up. I've had many people try to sell me something that has been altered and passing it off as original. I would love to talk about the riflemans rifle if you ever wanna chat!

I have been a Winchester collector for a long time, have a closet appraisal business specializing in firearms and related things. Its a joy just to see some of the stuff tucked away out there. Pre 64 70's are my baby, but I love all quality guns. If you want to know anything just ask!

Well if anyone is looking for a rare nice shape 99 for the same in the pre 64, let me know. I have a few more 99s than 70s right now. Most of them are rare and in great shape. Just PM me what you are looking for, and what you have to trade. My stuff is in pretty good condition. If not, sry to bother.

Take care,
Jeff

If you can call one pre 64 model 70 a collection (.270 from 1952), then I am a collector. But when you get it at an estate auction for $400, its kind of hard to pass up. It even has a Weaver KV 1.5-5X on it. Never owned a 99 but would love one in .250 or 300 savage some day. I do have two, pre WWII Model 94's, both in .32 special and a model 1890 takedown in .22L as well to round out my Winchester collection.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

I am looking for a 99f from the 60's. I'll know it when I see it. Has a gold trigger and really nice classic wood/checkering. .300 savage only.
