RIFLE AND SCOPE PACKAGE: aARE THE SCOPES ANY GOOD?

I see a lot of low end rifles are selling with a scope package like a 4x12x40MM from the style of the scope seem a low end bushnell
I wonder any one set up the rifle and how well does the scope hold on paper?
I just pick up a 4x12x40MM and would like to place on a 243 cal/ bolt with light loads for the grand-daughter

i bought a savage edge in .25-06 that came with a 3-9x40 bushnell. 3 shots out of the box had it zeroed at 100 yds, and will hold sub MOA groups.

Re: RIFLE AND SCOPE PACKAGE: aARE THE SCOPES ANY GOOD?

those scopes are fine ive had a 60.00 simmons on 270 that has held zero after 400+ rounds. if your going to zero the gun and not mess around with the adjustment after that it should be fine.

i been using the traditions scope that came with my inline for a while now and with 3 pellets in thier it has alot of recoil and is still holding zero.

the only reason i buy a more exspensive scope like a nightforce or leupold is so i can click up minutes of angle and return back to zero. and also be able to shoot on different powers and have the same point of impact.

but if your just gonna zero it and then hunt from thier thiers no reason to spend all that extra $$ other than optical clarity

I am going to set it up at 100 yards and leave as is.

Could you do better: yes, are there worse; yes. Personally I prefer to spend more on glass than I spent on the gun, but there are cheaper scopes that perform better
