Slight pit removal.

Is there any way to fill in minor scrathes and pits?I got a bluing pen I used on smooth scratches before, but I got a couple shallow pits and scraches I want to remove before I touch up with perma blue.I already used 0000 steel wool with oil but there is still a ridge in the pits and scratches. It is a small localized are about the size of a band-aid.I didn,t want to get too agressive and remove all of the bluing.

The only way to remove shallow pitting is with a file and you have to know what you are doing or the gun will look worse than with the pits. If you want to get rid of them it should be filed and reblued. If the gun isn't very valuable I would not do it because it will be expensive.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!
