Re: S&W bodyguard .38???

I have one and I like it very much. Its always in my pocket in a desantis pocket holster or on my ankle at work. You won't win any precision pistol matches with it or beauty contests, but its very reliable and will put 5 where you need them.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

Re: S&W bodyguard .38???

Like I said, I carry mine in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. When I'm at work, I carry it in a Fobus ankle holster. I have the airweight mod 638.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

Go with the hammer-less air-weight model. Its a great pocket gun.

the 442 is hammerless and airweight J-frame. I like mine, don't need a holster as it carries nice in a winter weight coat posket.

Ruger SP101 in .357 2" is a good alternative. Can shoot .38s or .357s. And it's a 5-shot.

You just shot an unarmed man. Well he should have armed himself!!! Clint Eastwood.

Bucket, I've shot a number of Bodyguards. they have a hammer, but it is shrouded. Do you ever shoot it single action? How do you find the shrouded hammer is to cock?

the 442 is a DAO.

Not too bad but I rarely if ever shoot it single action. I'd be leery of cocking the hammer then trying to ease it down. If you pull the hammer back, you should probably only do so if you're going to fire it. When I first bought it and ran a couple hundred rounds through it, I shot it SA a bit. If I ever need to use it, the last thing I'll be thinking of is cocking the hammer back. I was looking for a 442 when I got the 638. The 442 wasn't available at the time (everyone was sold out and back ordered) and I got a pretty good deal on the 638. It looks like a pregnant tadpole but it has really grown on me. I call it my American Express card or my pocket rocket.
