Original equipment Mod 7 ??

Looking for some input on a Rem Mod 7.
I just got a Remington Model seven in a 17 remington. It does not have the original stock on it and I am trying to research what the original may have been. It is a lightweight blued gun 18.5" barrel. If possible please post a pic of what the original stock to this gun may have looked like. I have suspicions it was wood not synthetic possibly w a schnable foreend??

Also, I am looking for the original open sights for it. I've tried Brownell's and Midway and Remington themselves with no success. Any ideas on outlets? Thanks in advance!!

This is a I'd guess a early-mid 90s 7 .

Does it have four holes for the scope mount or three?

IIRC that one had three, one in the bridge. It isn't my rifle, I resurrected it from the dead. This is what it looked like when the guy brought it in expertly refinished with black paint and a cheap brush!

I have an early 90s model 7. I'll post a picture tonight when I get home if I remember.

Re: Original equipment Mod 7 ??

If you are looking for a stock for that Model 7 let me know. I found a place that has some new Walnut stocks for a great price. However they do not look like the factory Model 7 stock. They look more like the stock Remington put on the 700 "Classic" series rifles. Overall a nice checkered walnut stock. If memory serves me right they were $165?? A good deal for a nice drop in walnut stock with checkering(IMO). Tom.

Re: Original equipment Mod 7 ??

I went back and checked the link. The price was $129, not $165. And it is slightly different than the Classic design, it has a Monte Carlo like the BDL. But everything else would remind you of the Classic. The companies name is Stocky's Stocks. Do a search-you can find it if interested. But they won't last at that price. Tom.

Re: Original equipment Mod 7 ??

the schnabel forend is correct, where did you ever find a M7 in 17rem? they are like hens teeth and if you paid under 1000 for it you got a steal. the 17 rem is one of the most collectable calibers.

It may be a poor choice of words but I am smart enough to understand what you meant.
