DO YOU BABY YOUR GUNS?

I do! I treat them as if i were married to them ?
When i use them i get them home and no mater what time it is i clean them,if shot, but always wipe them down and oil them.
Man -o-man how i hate to see a gun with pits or that fine light glaze of rust on it !!!!!!

No, other than a light coat of oil/lube once in a while, that's about it. I used to be a fanatic cleaner a long time ago, bought into those "old wives tales" of super clean only...thank GOD for stainless steel synthetic and moly coating straightened my thinking out !

Re: DO YOU BABY YOUR GUNS?

I do baby my rifles and all guns. But with that being said. I have a few rifles that have seen better days and they are by bad weather rough terrain rifles.

I clean them after shooting or carrying them in the woods, and wipe them down as necessary when stored. If that is babying, then yes.

Re: DO YOU BABY YOUR GUNS?

Well I would not say that I baby them as I stop short of giving them names.... However I enjoy keeping all my firearms clean and in as the best shape as possible. I really like picking up an old abused (to a point) gun and reconditioning it for resale. As a kid after a day hunting with my dad the rule was to first clean and prepare the critters and then clean the guns no matter how late in the day it was. Then when I was in the Marines that care of firearms was reinforced and I have never forgotten it. This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine....

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......
