No. The action is different to allow for the claw extractor and the ejector.

Re: Change action from push to Controlled????

To further explain, your action is not set up for a blade ejector and does not have the clearance in the bolt raceway for the pre 64 claw extractor.

yeah, that's a push feed rifle now and forever.

And that's ok, really. They are solid performers, just not CRF. I have an XTR (pushfeed) rifle and like it a lot.

Yep. Have Model 70's in both configurations. Can't say as one's any mo better than the other.

The guys who go across the pond and kill stuff that tries to kill them back seem to agree that CRF is the way to go in that case. But other than that......

Re: Change action from push to Controlled????

I have push feed and CRF rifles in Winnie Model 70's as well as several other makes. For a long time I was hung up on needing to have a CRF rifles. But the further I go, I don't think there is a hill of beans difference performance wise.
I have never had a feeding or extraction issue with either type. For the OP, unless you are having some type of problem, I would not worry about it.
For some of the last couple hunts I've been on I actually prefer a push feed to save a few ounces of weight on the rifle.

I've had a number of both and still have both. I've found push feeds to be more accurate on average and I prefer them.
