Re: Hey ladies...... !!!!

That looks great! Its about time the women are taken into consideration. In the past its been a youth/women's rifle, not good enough!

BTW Savage has had the Lady hunter out for some time and I'll be looking at that for my wife. I like pretty wood but her's will be a hunting rifle and the Lady hunter has a synthetic stock

Re: Hey ladies...... !!!!

I will flat guarantee you the Vanguard will be a shooter !!

Hunting rifles ARE allowed to be pretty, ya know ?? At one time, hunting rifles all had wood on em. Those are the ones that STILL have a heart and a soul. I have more than my share of dishwasher safe rifles. But the ones with a nice stick of wood on them are just a little higher class .......

Re: Hey ladies...... !!!!

Strut10 I won't disagree and the scratches carry a lot of memories. Ya just don't get that kind of character from a plastic stock. The flip side is I can buy two Savages for the price of that Vanguard.

That you can.....

Only thing, then, is you have two Savages.

I know Savage builds a very accurate rifle these days. I just ain't a fan. Can't get past that fugly action and barrel nut.

Re: Hey ladies...... !!!!

A Savage is a 2am bar queen. Fat and ugly but functional.

I'm thinking 260 Rem or 7-08 with a Leupold 2x7. Just enough punch and range without a lot of recoil.

I like Savage. I don't currently have any though.

Re: Hey ladies...... !!!!

I like them too and I applaud Savage for thinking of the lady folk. I own a 99f in 308. My son owns an older 110 in 7 Mag. That one is fat! Their Acutriger is great. They are very accurate out of the box and a great bargain. They just should be entered into a beauty contest.
