150 - 170 Flat Nose 30-30 bullets in a 30-06 /308?

Being that these are designed for a 30-30,of which is a lot slower than a 308 or a 30-06, wouldn't they do quite a bit of damage to the meat. Would it be like using hollow point?

Depending on the brand/type, and if pushed fast, yes they'll do more destruction than they would at typical 30-30 velocities. But they're not going to act like varmint bullet. If that's what you're asking. There are also hollow points that don't expand rapidly, and are of tougher construction. So you're kind of comparing apples to oranges.

Yes. I've done it and even the 170's don't hold together as well as the 150 grain .30-06 factory loads. I was experimenting but it makes little sense to hamstring a .30-06 with a flat nose. It's a series of heavy concessions with no upside.

Not a bad idea...the shoulders will already be pre-ground ready for your sausage mixture !!

If you're loading reduced they are the berries. Designed to expand from 2300 fps or so on down.

Load them full power in a 308 or 30-06 and you may expect some failures.
