christmas present goes boom

it ain't a loud tie but it will have to do.

Marlin 336 SDT Trapper. Limited edition from Davidsons. Only 501 made. I got it a few weeks ago and just got the scope and mounts yesterday. I put a Nikon Monarch UCC 1.5-4.5x20 with Tally Extra Low one peice mounts. it makes a nice setup. stainless steel, laminated stock, 16.25" barrel. it shot pretty good but by the time i had it hitting close i was frozen and the groups were about 1" at 40 yards and i think it will do better if i do my part. so i took a break. i plan on going out back this afternoon and giving it another try.

Re: christmas present goes boom

ya if they made it in 35 i would have one of those too. i have the 336D which is a 35 guidegun but its blue and walnut, not ss and laminate. the nice thing about 30/30 is that is the cheapest centerfire ammo you can find for a deer gun. so i can shoot the heck out of it and it doesn't hurt my wallet or shoulder. it doesn't really kick, it just jumps a bit.

Dont they make it in 45-70 also? Not that I want one
in that configuration, but it seems to me that I saw one
somewhere.

yep. its the 1895sdt with straight stock and 1895sdg with pistol grip. the also made a 336sdg with pistol grip but i like straight stocks. they made 501 of each so someday my kids may make a few bucks off of it.
