Scope for rifle help

Hey there, I have a brand new Tikka T3 lite S/S .300 wsm. I am having a problem trying to pick a scope for the rifle. Want and hope to use the rifle for Elk & Big Horn's. But will probably use it mostly for targets or whitetails. I like the look of the Nikon Monarch 3-12 SF.
Any other options or suggestions? thanks!!!

Re: Scope for rifle help

Nikon is probably one of the best quality scopes you can get at a lower price. look on ebay ive found a few nikons brand new pretty well under store prices. If you feel like spending more money and want a better clarity and lens go for a leupold. i have Leupold, Night Force, Bushnell, Nikon, Khonus, Simmons. and out of the bunch the only one ive ever had problems with is the bushnell elite that keeps loosing its zero.

i have a nikon 4-18 buckmaster with the BDC reticle on my 300 win mag and have shot over 500 rounds without it ever loosing zero. i paid like 240$ fot it on ebay new give or take 20$ on the price been over a year ago.

heres a link to a pretty good deal on one

http://www.natchezss.com has some pretty good sales on nikons right now, including 3-9 prostaffs for 99 bucks (refurb).

Re: Scope for rifle help

I would get a quality 4 x 12 scope and agree with the Leupolds. I have a Nikon Pro Staff one on my 06 and it is clear and sharp at all power settings.

Re: Scope for rifle help

I cannot tell you much about it yet, but I ordered a Nikon pro staff 4-12X40 from Graff for $138.00. Im going to put it on a 22-250 for chucks this summer. I have a couple of the pro staff 3-9X40 on a couple other rifles that work great for the money. I will give a report back on The Pro-Staff 4-12X40. Once I get the scope, and if it ever warms up enough to shoot.

Re: Scope for rifle help

you purchased a top quality firearm. purchase a equal quality piece of glass to mount on it. spend MORE on scope than rifle. at the shop i have mounted far too many junk scopes ( $49 no name, 1950's used, etc.) on new remington 700's, sako's, weatherby's. customers spent $$$$$$ on rifle, $$$$$ on scope and then use cheapest rings they can find. ???????
