Boyd's Custom Stocks

Anybody use these stocks on their guns? Thought about getting a Thumbhole one for my Savage Axis 308. Thanks again

Re: Boyd's Custom Stocks

I have two thumbholes from Boyd's, one on a rem 243 and one on a Rutger 7mm. I have had no problems at and the were very easy to install. I like the feel of the thumbholes, they may be a little bit heavier then a normal stock though.

Re: Boyd's Custom Stocks

About 30 years ago I restocked my Dad's Savage 340 with a Boyds stock. After Dad died my Mom gave me the rifle and it is now in my collection. Stock was fitted well but I did the finish work including the checkering. It has real pretty wood.

Re: Boyd's Custom Stocks

There are better quality thumbhole stocks, but not at Boyds price point. I don't think you can go wrong buying one.

Re: Boyd's Custom Stocks

I have a thumbhole nutmeg laminate on my marlin xs7-308. it's a beautiful rifle, and the stock fits me very well. I'd highly recommend them. I'll be getting another one at some point for my 22mag, but i need to open the barrel channel a little to fit the bull barrel of my Marlin 882SSV
