unusual mauser

after years of asking around i finaly identified my dad's ww2 rifle.he fought in the islands and traded some jap stuff to an airforce pilot for it.it's an orbendorf 98 mauser t.st.v austrian [censored] club target rifle in 8.15x46 caliber.any of you mauser guys know anything about this gun?

This caliber is similar to our own .32-40, is the

It was primarly a target round, used by germans for for offhand shooting. RWS makes ammo $$$ for it 151 grain bullet at 1800fps. It is a rimmed case, so lots of single, double and drillings used it.
