Help PIcking a new Rifle

I am currently being offer a 700 BDL .270 Win with a Vari-X III Leopold scope or a 700 ADL 300 Win with a Nikon Buckmaster scope. I know poor me I want to pick up a new rifle that will work for Mule Deer, Elk etc what ever I would want to hunt out west. I'm looking for a little advice since up to now I have only hunted deer with a shotgun, .243 or a muzzle loader. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Help PIcking a new Rifle

I'd have to take the 300 Win Mag. Don't know anything about Nikon scopes but Leupold's are good.

What's the price difference?

I'd take the BDL with the Leupold

Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog!

Re: Help PIcking a new Rifle

To can pick up a new stainless REM 700 in various caliber at Dicks for 400 bucks if u watch for sales. U can get a new quality scope for a decent price. May not be bad idea to check their first.

Re: Help PIcking a new Rifle

either or would work for your purposes. depends on what the magnification the leupold is. if the scope has enough power for what you want i would probably choose the 700 bdl 270
