Re: mossburg(sp) maverick

it's a robust, functional shotgun. if it fits your budget you will not be unhappy with this purchase.

Re: mossburg(sp) maverick

it's just a cheaper made version of the Mossberg 500...a basic shotgun. the internals are nearly identical IIRC, and they function just fine. I have a buddy that bought one a good 12 years ago, it's cycled thousands of rounds and never failed using regular remington field loads and buckshot. even fired some slugs out of it with nary a hiccup.

Re: mossburg(sp) maverick

My grandfather had one several years ago. Was identical to my 500 other than the stock and ported barrel. His stock was cheap plastic mine is cheap wood. His didn't have a ported barrel while mine does. I could tell no difference in recoil in a side by side comparison shooting 3" turkey loads. His also only came with a mod choke while mine came with imp cyl, mod and full.

Re: mossburg(sp) maverick

and the regular mossberg chokes fit the maverick. So you can buy an accuchoke kit to have all chokes if yours does not come with all of them.

Re: mossburg(sp) maverick

new to me...didn't know they were selling Maverick rifles. might be the mossberg ATR line? if so, you could not give me one....but they are said to be pretty accurate rifles. 2 too many bolt failures for me to be comfortable shooting one.
