Rem 870 forearm installation help....

Bought and refinished a wooden stock to replace the synthetic stock on my 870. Butt stock went on with no issues. Not so lucky with the forearm! Old stock came off easily, but the wooden one will not go on. The action tube is way too big to go thru the forearm. It wont even start thru. The nut on the other end of the tube will not go into the stock either! Tried spreading the forearm a little but it still wont go.
anyone ever run into this problem? Am I going to have to go at it with a rasp and sandpaper?

Any chance you got a forearm for a smaller gauge gun than what you have? That's what it sounds like to me.

I think I'm an alright guy, I think I'm alright

The profile of the wooden and synthetic forearms are the same size. I think theyre would be a noticable difference if I had say a 20ga forearm.

Been going at it with a round rasp and some sandpaper. Getting closer. Should have it fitting today.
