Marlin X7 youth stock?

I picked up a nice used Marlin X7 in .243 yesterday. I'm going to give it to my son for his 8th birthday in a few months. It has an adult sized stock now, but I see Marlin makes them in a "youth" model. Where would be the best place to purchase a youth stock for the gun?

So many things to hunt, but too little time.

You might check and ask around on marlin owners, also you should be able to order it directly from Marlin 800-544-8892.

Re: Marlin X7 youth stock?

I'll have to check the Marlin owners forum at home. I called Marlin and they didn't have any in stock. I also did a search online for the part number they gave me with no luck.

Is it possible to cut down the factory synthetic stock? I can buy an aftermarket stock from Boyds. I would rather modify the factory stock and then buy a nice stock from Boyds in an adult size when he grows out of the "youth" size.
