Foremost Model 6500 .308 Win
I pick up a Foremost model 6500 (.308 win) the other day for nice pay, it's for my son he always wanted a .308 for hunting... it's a beautiful gun built on a Mauser action...Does anyone have any information of how many Foremost Model 6500 where chambered in .308 win... I know foremost was a J.C penny brand back when they sold rifles ....it seems to been re-barreled in England... but most popular caliber I found was 30-06, few .270... but nothing about the .308 WIN, as stamp on side of barrel, looks like I have to have the bolt handle heated up and bent a little, it hits the scope when opening, it has "ghost rings" on it raised up scope, I don't like that I prefer scope as low to gun as possible, wonder if a good gun smith can do this? I never had a bolt handle bent to shape before...maybe a few expert riflemen can answer my questions
Take a kid hunting as much as you can!
