Few Months ago I walked into a sporting gun store and saw a Browning BLR 257 Roberts with steel receiver I really didn't need a rifle but this one was gorgeous with very few minor marks on it excellent condition Looks hardly used What's your take on this caliber in this type of rifle Thanks for reading

Re: Need Honest Opinion

As long as you like it that is 99 percent of it but I could get use to the idea of it in my safe I like the BLR and 257 has a great rep as a round

Re: Need Honest Opinion

No personal experience with the BLR, but the 257 Bob is an excellent caliber, and really shines when handloaded.

Re: Need Honest Opinion

I'm not a lever action fan, BUT, Browning's are beautiful and 257 Robert's is a great round. Sounds like a nice addition

Re: Need Honest Opinion

I own quite a few 25 calibers that I use for deer hunting along with few 6mm's. There is nothing more deadly on deer than a 25, and a Browning even though I don't own any would be a classic to own.

Re: Need Honest Opinion

That's a gun I would have picked up in a flash. Don't need it, but I think a quarter bore lever action would make a nice Pa deer rifle!

Re: Need Honest Opinion

If you ever get tired of it, let me know! My daughter is a lefty and a BLR in a Bob would rock!

Congrats on a nice pick-up there.

Re: Need Honest Opinion

I've been hunting with a "Bob" for 20 years. Has killed mule year, antelope, whitetail, and ground hogs. A great caliber!
