Savage 111 featherlight? Help!!!

This guy is offering me savage 111 featherlight or featherweight? I never heard of them. The only one I know of is the new lightweight with the spiral bolt and slots cut out of the stock. He says it has amazing wood and it's not the new lightweight possibly a special order from some years ago? It's in .270 win he also has a .300 win mag I'm just waiting on pictures

So what do you need help with! Savages are typically great shooters out of the box so if the caliber meets your needs, the gun fits you well, and you are comfortable with the price...you're should be happy with it.

Oh! I think the model 111 Trophy Hunter's weight is about 7.25 lbs. ... Not heavy but I wouldn't consider it a "featherweight" either. I don't think I'd want a lighter rifle in .270.

If there's a question. ...get the serial number.

Go to www.Savagearms.com > store > partfinder......and enter the serial number.

That will tell you the model, caliber and date of mfg.

Boyds makes a featherweight stock for Savages maybe that's what he talking about. If I had a dollar for every gun I've looked at that wasn't even close to what the owner said it was.I could dang near buy another gun.

I think he wants to know if any of the Savage rifles were designated as being named the "featherweight".........No, that was a Winchester moniker given to the Model 70.
