mauser question

picked up a really nice 7mm mauser but it has the swedish disk on the stock did the swedes make a 7mm or is there a way i can tell for sure of the caliber guy gave me a box of shells and there 7mm mauser ?

quickest way to find out if the rifle is a 6.5x55 or 7mm. try to chamber a round, NICELY, don't go slamming the bolt forward. If it fits then its a Swede that someone had work done to, if it don't fit then its still a x55.

But if you really want an answer that is up front, just always go talk with a gunsmith, or an old time gun shop owner that has shot those kind of firearms.

there's a gun shop close to me that all he like is tactical stuff, so i only take my tactical stuff there, were ask some where else, its an old timer behind the counter wearing an old Ford tractor hat, ill go and talk to him about mausers and such.
