Rem. BDL scope?

I am mounting a bushnell banner 3x9 on my Rem. 700 bdl, I have Warne 2 piece bases and Warne QR medium height rings. The problem I have is I have the scope as far back as possible but my flip up scope covers still hit the open sights on the barrel. Does anyone have this problem?, will the high rings correct this? Thanks for any input.

Re: Rem. BDL scope?

take the sites off or change the scope caps

Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog!
If it's locked up and put away - Your NOT safe!

Re: Rem. BDL scope?

Like was said, its often easy to take the rear sight off...or, cant the scope caps so it doesn't flip straight up...noone says it has to flip straight up....could set it so you can open it with your left thumb while the rifle is shouldered...

Re: Rem. BDL scope?

On my Model 700 rifles I always pull the rear sight off and plug the holes...Almost any scope with a 40 mm objective will hit the sights.
