Remove silver solder sight from remington

I picked up an older Remington police shotgun and I bought ghost ring sights for it and a rail for a red dot. How do I remove the front ramp bead sight? I think it is silver soldered on.

I'm going to get the whole gun cerrakoted when I am finished with it so I was thinking about heating it up? How difficult of a project is this, or should I take it to a gunsmith?

** This one I would let a smith do. Have them remove it when they do the new coating. Shouldn't be that much more - and they have everything to do it right including experience.

Is your position a short term gain - or a long term loss? Separate the issues.

Agreed. You need a much higher heat to remove those, you can do a lot of damage if your not tuned into such things.
