Re: Bear/deer ammo?

I shoot 140 Nosler partition for both. I have never lost an animal. I have also shot 150 grain core lokts with awesome results.

Re: Bear/deer ammo?

Not bad in my gun, but its heavy. McMillan stalk with semi bull barrel. I could shoot a full box of shells and never know it the next day.

Re: Bear/deer ammo?

The .280 is nothing more really than a necked down 30-06. Recoil with any equivalent loading will be less, but not by a ton. As fat as bullet choice-any load for deer should do for bear, though I would lean towards a bonded type bullet, a sectionalized bullet or an all copper type. Any of which should work well for both.
