Rem 750

I have a new rem.750 308 cal. I put a 6 in rail on it which fits perfectly I mounted a new weaver super slam on it 1in rings. With the hight adjusted all the way I cannot get it on a 18in target at 40 yrds. Just hits dirt. Then put a vortex viper pst on 30mm rings with the same results. The rail is not tapered. Need help before I call Rem.

Picture of your set up would help.

Re: Rem 750

I took the scopes off so it's only the gun and rail. I thought maybe someone else ran into this.

Re: Rem 750

Another thought, maybe they make a tapered rail for this gun.

Re: Rem 750

Place a shim in the rear scope ring to place it into adjustment..This will elevate the rear of the scope..If you do not have a piece of metal to use as a shim take it to your local gunsmith, should be a cheap fix..

Re: Rem 750

Tried shimming, only brought it up a little. Can only go so far with shims.

Re: Rem 750

Thought maybe the first scope was marked wrong. It wasn't.

Re: Rem 750

You may have put the rail on backwards. Just saying.
