Remington 760 replacement stocks

I recently purchased an original 760 gamemaster 30-06 from the dating code it looks like it was made in 1961, its a basic adl with the non checkered stock and corn cob forend , both have been repaired, I would like to find an original corn cob forend but have had no luck scanning the internet, has anyone had any luck restoring one of these. Any suggestions would be helpful.

They come up for sale quite a bit, but go quickly.
You can send your old one to Macon gunstocks, they will return you a newly duplicated one, plus your old one.
Many other places can do so, I just like Macon from experience.

Re: Remington 760 replacement stocks

In those predicaments I'll buy an Identical rifle with good wood and bad metal. Swap them out and resell the bad wood/bad metal gun. Its the cheapest way to get a gun with good wood and metal. I do it all the time.

Most recently I did that trick with my long tang Winchester 71 Deluxe. Now I have an immaculate Model 71 for a hair under $1100 invested.

My aspirations are simple.
