1A Mercer County, TC Hawken (1973) with a hand poured patched round ball. 90gr. FF.

12/29 about 50 yards, my son pushed her out to me. shot straight on. hit inside of left shoulder ball went through chest and took about about 10 inches of rib cage riding right along it until lodging in the hide about 1/2 way back.

Deer went about 60-70 yards and took a few minutes to expire. I could see its tail but it was down over a hill and I had to go around in the snow. It was in the thick stuff and it was expired before I walked down around the hollow to where it ran. It did however not really bleed until it went down. the entry was a little high and there was no exit. only a few drops of blood that I most likely would not have seen if there was not snow.

the ball kept about 1/2 to 2/3 of its weight. if you seen the wound channel you would understand where the weight went.
