I am going to go again next year. But I'm not using a guide. We met 3 guys from Illinois on the trip. We already are making plans to go back. Guides cannot take hunters on public ground in Kansas. We saw thousands of mallards and uncountable geese on public lands driving around. Plus farmers are very receptive to hunters out there. I talked to one guy at a local bar who was a farmer, all he wanted was a case of beer to hunt for the week. Plus you could hop to Oklahoma in an hour or so and hunt public land there. If you do your homework North Dakota is a great place to go. You do not need permission on unposted land there.only time I ran into posted land was if a land owner had a big deer on the place. They just did not want us to mess up his hunt.
