Duck Movement and Storm Damage PI

We tried to get to PI this morning and just in case your planing on going up.

Allot of damage, PI park is closed for now and part of tomorrow. If anyone makes it out and about please let us know if blind 2 is still there.

Blinds 64, 65 and we think 66 are gone. Ranger said that there were 5-6 blinds in the road. Trees down were about the same, after light that number went up, some where around 20 plus trees in the road, blinds ??. Water, sand and rocks in the road. Just a mess.

Only movement we are seeing are mostly song birds, and cormorants. Few flocks of ducks no migration, they are moving in a spread out wave if you will, few groups here or there. My opinion, but years of hunting and pressure have changed what little migration we did have. Gone are the large groups of ducks and geese. More of a pattern of movement south, only going as far as needed. Maybe a funnel down south or west, but not in western PA .I do still see swans almost every year, not any yet this year.

Migration I have seen are:

Red Wing Black Birds.

Night Hawks

Dark Cormorants (double-crested)

I know of a number of other birds that do migrate, and have left. Most are song birds.
