Northern Opener

Well the gang had good luck on opening morning. Everyone got their limit of wood ducks and we also got one mallard.

Congrats boys. All local woodies here too. A5 hasnt barked yet though unfortunately. Need some cold weather to push em down outta the north.

Outsiders call us sadists or masochists; sometimes both. Others, mostly ourselves, describe our activities in romantic, even heroic, terms. We take ourselves very seriously and tend to forget that much of duck and goose hunting is fun and sometimes ridiculous.

The perils of duck hunting are great, especially for the duck.

Bummer. Weather looks better this weekend, though!

We saw a couple mallards in the mix, and when we scouted the day before we saw at least 100 mallards. They kept dropping in hot and heavy for approximately 2 hours in the morning. We went back in the evening, but aside from jump shooting when we got to the swamp, we didn't get much action.

Heck yes it does! Finally! Hoping for some big time movement this next week. Good luck to you guys.
