took a small walk around a pond and saw this

while waiting for a few friends I walked around a small pond and ran into this soon to be mother goose. he sure was mad at me and showed her displeasure, so I moved away after taking a few pictures.

That last pic she looks like, "Ok, this is your last warning!"
jimsdad and nomad_archer like this.

I've spent most of my money on Waterfowling, Women and Whiskey.
The rest of my money I just wasted.

Looks look a close call, You don't want to be goose whipped, it hurts and is embarrassing to have your butt kicked by 6 or 7 lb bird.

never been whooped by a wild one but when i raised geese i had a "tame" one that was nasty when she was on eggs. would leave black and blue marks on my thighs were she grabbed me. they can really pinch and flog you with those wings

neat pics , reminds me one year at camp ,there was a grouse that would either follow you around and peck your leg or fly at you and flap your head ,don't know what ever happened to it

My Dad used to work in a slaughterhouse: he said he would rather get bit by a big dog than a goose. Said the dog will bite and let go, but the geese just keep hanging on.

I've had a few close calls with geese, especially with helping banding, but never have been tagged (yet).

If you're having trouble hunting for deer,
don't wish things were easier;
wish you were smarter.
