Never shot the SBE 3. I don't like the ramped up rib that is on that gun and many others. I think that style rib is designed to shoot high. If I you don't need 3.5" capability, I would check out the Benelli Montefeltro. We have 3 and they are awesome. Never had a jam.

Add me to the long list of people that own an SBE 3 that shoots high. Tried the different shims and that helped a little but it still shoots high. Sad Stuff.

I've spent most of my money on Waterfowling, Women and Whiskey.
The rest of my money I just wasted.

Both the SBE 1 & SBE 2 are wonderful weapons and shoot dead on but I'm not sure if you can still get new ones.

I honestly don't mind a shotgun that shoots a little high. Not a lot, but a little. Now Left/Right I wouldn't tolerate much.

marcus99 yes there is guys on there saying they are shooting a foot high etc and left or right. i know with a raised to flush rib they will shoot a little high but with shims and sights etc you can bring it down. i really hate to spend the money on a gun that pricey to only be disappointed

I have 2 Benelli SBE 1's. The one I use for waterfowl is an original HK and has a lower rib. It shoots fine. The other one I have set up for turkey hunting with a pistol grip and scope. You can find a used SBE 1 if you keep your eyes open and search gunbroker for around $1000. It beats spending $1700 on a new one.
