Crossroads Hunt Club?

I was curious if there are any members of Crossroads Hunt Club on here or if anyone has any info on it. I've been waterfowl hunting here and there for years but first year hunting with my black lab who I got last year so much more into it now. Definitely changed things and now I hunt primarily for the dog and could care less about shooting myself. This year has been a struggle with ducks in Bucks County Pa where I mostly hunt. I'm fortunate to be able to hunt a lot of days but can really only hunt during the week. All my buddies can't hunt during the week so I thought trying to find a hunting club in Maryland or Delaware would be a good option for future years. Going solo with a guide during the week in Maryland gets expensive real quick. I have decent goose opportunities but prefer to hunt ducks since I don't really like eating goose and don't like shooting anything unless I'm going to eat it. Any info would be appreciated. - Jeff

You don't need a guide in MD or NJ. I hunted ducks in both states for many many years. I hunted out of a Barnegat bay sneak box, all the guys I hunted with in MD &NJ had them. I will say, I nevr went out in big salt water alone because too many thing can go wrong. However, both states have water fowl management areas and a whole lot od bays and rivers where you can hunt. We would go down in the off seasons and scout new areas we were thinking about hunting, spoke to people, found access points and places to stay that were hunter friendly. You don't have to join a club. Talk to Goose hunter on this site, he hunts NJ, I believe he may be down there now waiting for ice out. Buy maps of the state land marshes and waterfowl areas, go scout well before the season. Half the fun is finding new areas.

Thanks, I plan on getting a boat in the next few years and doing all those things but I thought a hunting club with set blinds would be a good option till then. I'm also not a big fan of going out solo in a boat. Even with every precaution stuff can happen. I know it's hard to find a good hunting club just like it is finding a good lease but I'm sure there's ones out there.

I have been a member of Crossroads HC for the past 3 years while living roughly 3 1/2hrs from the clubs properties in Delmar. In my experience, the waterfowl side (i'm not a deer member) is comprised of a good group of guys with mutual objectives that generally cooperate to encourage mutual success. The properties have improved year over year as we've dropped some and added others that provide both goose, duck or combo opportunities in tidal, fresh water and field environments. Would be glad to speak with you in more detail or put you in contact with board members if you'd like.
