1st Hunt In The New Pit

Put the finishing touches on the new pit yesterday.

Today we had 2 flocks toll into the decoys.

I've spent most of my money on Waterfowling, Women and Whiskey.
The rest of my money I just wasted.

Awesome. Congrats!!! I'm curious how the grass mat works. Does it flip back?

The real question is, are you gonna mount the banded birds?

Dave didn't bring anything to cook this morning, but the cook stove is in the blind.

The lids you see on the blind just cover the hole while we're not using it, they are then locked . The opening is covered with the same thatch on a rope then attached to plastic fence, in short sections, that can pushed back when you go to shoot. Simple and effective.

The geese were banded at Middle Creek, one in 2017 and the other in 2010.

And I would have mounted those geese right there if the other guys wouldn't have been watching!!!
dmccoy1, BOOTOXEN and mericanwit like this.

The pit seems to be it!

An archer shoots his targets as far as he can. A bowhunter shoots his target as close as possible.
