Isn't a 357 or 44 mag. revolver considered a sporting firearm. I know several guys who hunt with them.
Not trying to split hairs here but this could easily be misinterpreted.
I do EXACTLY that. I carry a S&W 686 in .357Magnum whenever I hunt in bear country, and since it is considered a SD weapon ( in addition to a legal hunting gun), I am 100% legal. I believe the intent of the law would prohibit an Uzi full auto, a 12 Ga shotgun....you get the picture. If you have a LTCF permit, then whatever you might normally carry for self defense you can carry for self defense while hunting. That is what it tries to explain.

I recently asked a similar question because I carry a flintlock pistol during the after Xmas flintlock season in addition to my flintlock rifle, and as near as anyone can figure, (and MANY suggested it would not be the best choice), my flint pistol is LEGAL to carry as my personal SD gun back and forth, and also legal to hunt with during the perscribed season.

Heaven has a gate, walls, and strict immigration policy.... enough said.

Just don't forget that the message below is on Page 4 of the PGC Digest, and Title 18 is not the G&W Code or Regulations.

"This digest is not the Game & Wildlife Code or its attendant regulations, and should not be considered final on legal interpretation. Questions about laws can be directed to your nearest Game Commission office."

Fully aware of that, just like it states the Digest is only a Summary of the Game Laws.
Get real please, a simple question about a regulation and your turning into a legal trial.
This is not Law & Order TV.
Maybe campaign to the PGC so every license holder get's a complete book of the PGC Game Code or free legal council when you buy a license.
Unbelievable

100+ round beta mag in my actual one.

I don't believe in overkill, my biggest fear is running out of ammo!

There's no such thing as overkill or too much ammo in a PDW.

There is a prohibition against possessing a handgun in turkey season in the digest. If I read the snippet of code you posted, WW, that should mean a handgun for self defense can be carried in spring turkey season, so long as it’s not used to harvest or attempt to harvest any animals...?
Yes, but only if you have a license to carry a firearm, not a permit to carry while hunting, trpping or fishing.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Sorry... I didn’t write that post well.

Yes, I have an LTCF. I tend to view all this type stuff through the LTCF lens and forget that not everyone has that.
