BLUE COON

Hey fellows, Was wondering If I ship out a Blue Hide coon-

Was going thru the freezer of skinned hides to board and not sure if my bud traded me one of his early hides but ended up boarding a nice 4X coon, problem is, BLUE- so do I ship with the rest or did I wast my time?

Thanks

Re: BLUE COON

You will be fine to ship it...just don't expect it to grade out select...

It very well may be yours...I shot a few big sows every year that are some tint of blue...last year I shot one somewhere in December... I wanna say it was after deer season before Christmas..2 or 3x sow...dark dark blue....got one in the basement now that also shows a good hint of blue....some sows and some young of the year will show blue all season...don't know why...maybe their food/energy goes to fat fattening them up not priming up? I don't know...

Re: BLUE COON

picture posting is fairly simple...

the way i do it..first create a photo bucket account...(free...also if you PC crashes your pics are backed up..)

after you have an account you upload a picture..view the picture and on the right side you will see a box with i think 4 different "codes" copy the IMG code..paste that in the post where you want a picture and poof it posts as a picture in the post.

welcome to HPA also!! you are from Wisconsin it looks like??

on the coon, thats very likely what it is...a blue sow...no worries and not telling if they are blue or not before they are skinned..they still sell..they just grade lower sections possible as damaged good...

Re: BLUE COON

Funny that you mentioned it, It was a Sow -

To bad a guy can't just copy paste his picture in, instead of going thru all the other steps- wonder why?

thanks for the advise tho Stay warm

Re: BLUE COON

Kits will be blue all season sometimes, so will the occassional sow.. Don't know why it occurs, but it can and does happen. Seen it plenty over my 40 years of being a coonhunter...

The site can't support that many pictures. Why you upload them to photobucket then share it here. Think of photobucket as your computer file. Once it's on photobucket it is as simple and click and paste the link. If you have smartphone use the photobucket app

Re: BLUE COON

Wonder what causes the Blueish hue? the fur looks prime? So the question is ? Is the fur never prime on a Blue Hide? and if so why not- ? I've asked way to many questions, haha ` thanks for all the reply's, and I will ship with the rest-

like the old saying says

" just because it's Different, doesn't make it wrong"

Re: BLUE COON

The fur might look good but the leather is not prime. In my opinion prime is a combo of the fur and leather.
