Coon in a beaver run??

Wish I would have had a camera or my phone, but didn't. Has anyone ever caught a coon in a 8" deep beaver run down a small stream?? I have trapped beaver my whole life and this is my first time. It was in a run about 200yds down from the hut. They come out of the cove the hut is in and follow the stream to the river. We caught a 54 pounder 2 weeks ago in it. Today I pulled down and saw fur in the trap and said to my dad "man, that is the lightest colored beaver I have ever seen." Got down there and had a bIG ole 25lb boar coon. Rubbed bad and no tail. It's tracks were all the way up the bank in the snow. Walked the bank to about 10ft from the trap and went into the creek and swam right into the 330. Trap wasn't 2" above the surface. Only thing I can figure is the top of the trigger was silverish. Ice was only a couple of feet away with 2' deep water. Neat thing to catch but don't know what he was thinking. Lol.

Sounds cool! But, that is the main reason I always carry a camera with me. You never know what you'll run into on the trapline!

Re: Coon in a beaver run??

I had my video camera in the truck, but it was too cold and wouldn't turn on. It was the only trap we had by my dads besides his 2 Yotes sets right beside his house. Phone was at the house. Lol. Caught some strange things in coni's this year. Lol.
