Possible Cable restraint Law Change.

Im reposting this from a fellow trapperman member- but it concerns us here specifically- Forgive me if im stepping on anyones toes.

these locks that are under attack are only a few . they are tring to deem them non relaxing . I and many , many other trappers have had no issue with damage to trapped animals . we are in need of all the support we can get . this is what was sent out to all wco's .

Just got off the phone with my District director.Trying to put together a Cr Class at our spring meeting.Anyways alot is still in the air at this point as far as new laws ( if any) and BMP studies..

Every catch I've had this year using micro locks has been dead when I got to it. Oh wait! That's probably because the beavers were under 3 inches of ice and drowned.

It doesn't sound that way from what I've heard. I've been told by reputable sources that Palmer doesn't like trappers of any kind and has pretty much made up his mind that he's getting rid of these locks. I'll wager that he nor anybody voting against us has ever actually used these locks to see how they perform.
One supposedly dead dog does not constitute a scientific study. I wish we could get the whole story on the dog that died. I'll guarantee the cable was not legally set if it choked out a dog.
They give us a tool, we are very successful as a group using them ( with a ridiculously high safety rate at probably 99.99%), and they want to now take them away purely based on personal agenda.
