Re: Mark June Cable Stakes
I have 10 dozen of them.
Every one of them will have a larger nut fully welded to them before the season opens. I have broken far to many of them to have any confidence in them, and some times it had nothing to do with hitting a hard object in the ground. I pounded some into extremely soft mud last year, set the chain, and came up with nothing but that tiny little spot welded nut.
I can put one in my bench vise and twist the nuts off with a slow steady turn.....very easily. When I fully weld a 5/16" nut to the stake, I'll darn near have to break my wrist to wring it off.
To his credit, I contacted Mark and told him about my problem with the original 5 dozen and he immediately sent me out a replacement 5 dozen at no charge. The trouble is, I had exactly the same issues with the new ones.
Tiny little nuts and tack welds just don't hold up.
Now Superstakes???? I've beaten Superstakes though frozen shale and ripped them back out with my homemade BEAST puller. They are ready to go all the time, everytime, and with full confidence that they are going to do the job they were designed to do. Go in, stay together, and stay put.
