Methylparaben will do the best job at holding fruit. Fruit and fish have a tendency to soup up and mold when using a Sodium base preservative, pectin will thicken but not preserve. What you want to do with the paste will determine how/if you need to process them in any way. Straight puree and a little sugar frozen until needed would be a good dressing in Dp's. Boil it down with pectin and preserved with methylparaben would make a good paste bait. You could use an infinite amount of different flavors and oils to change it up. Use your imagination.
