I was given last yrs freezer burnt blueberries-12 qt bags

Can I make a coon paste bait?

After thawing, preserve with what?

Should I chop in food processor?

Pectin to thicken?

Never done this but am trainable! LOL.

I use a fish base for bait and a fruit base for lures. Pectin may work as a preservative. Sodium Benzoate may be cheaper and better. You can also add some smelly flavor oils to enhance the smell. Take a look at http://www.blackiesblend.com

Re: blueberries thawing- what next?

Methylparaben will do the best job at holding fruit. Fruit and fish have a tendency to soup up and mold when using a Sodium base preservative, pectin will thicken but not preserve. What you want to do with the paste will determine how/if you need to process them in any way. Straight puree and a little sugar frozen until needed would be a good dressing in Dp's. Boil it down with pectin and preserved with methylparaben would make a good paste bait. You could use an infinite amount of different flavors and oils to change it up. Use your imagination.

I was thinking of adding a lil anise.

Thinking along the lines of a paste bait
