trap mods

just picked up some northwoods #2 at an auction. are they good as is for coyote or do i need to beef them up some. springs and everything are in great shape.

I would think they are good as is. I've seen videos that have yotes in 1.75 dukes and they were held just fine. So you should be good.

thanks. i am gona put on new chain and swivel's, was just curious about the strenght of them. i use all sleepy creek now.

You're lucky your in Clarion county, or you may not have gotten them! I buy all the Northwoods can around here. They are great traps.

I usually just center swivel them,put new chain on with heavy duty swivels,( 5 links of #2 machine chain), and file the dog and notch on the pan down so it's a hair trigger.

Sometimes I'll put on an inline spring, but there not necessary. Something else I've done to some is put a set of Beefer springs on them. Wow, what a stong trap. I can barely set it with my feet! Nothing is getting out of that.

You got some nice traps, hope you catch something in them.
