Scouting !!

Been out looking to pile up the Muskrats and Coon next year and have to say ive found some honey holes , i thought the rats have vanished but i have found you have to look for them , their there !!!

late winter is great for scouting,and early spring.Comfortable weather,snow for tracks.I plan to run my canoe down the river a few times this summer and see what I locate.I'm guessing I will find loads of coon,mink,fox.And some beaver and muskrat.Google Earth is a good scouting tool as is the new waterway maps they have for Pa.Shows every waterway in Pa and what fish,plus marshes and back in ponds you would never know about

I'll tell you this, I saw more muskrat sign along the rivers edge this year than I have for a long time. I did not specifically trap for muskrats, but I did catch a few in my mink and coon sets.

I am planning on building some floats this summer and getting some 110s to make a few more different sets to target them and the mink.
