Forest, you have about $100 in possums there. Nice job!

Only issue with peeling ears is when selling pelts to the mt man hat folks LOL. Also if you peel the ears, why not just flat cut them off, since the general fur industry doesn't use the faces anyway. They cut the ears off dried beavers, and even remove the areas on the outside of the legs.

I've got a coyote pelt here that had the ear fronts peeled and the pelt looks silly. I could make a nice mt man hat but for the ears! They won't stand up. Those tanned heads you see for sale seem to all be western yotes, and this is an eastern, would look odd putting a western pale silky head on a wolfy darker eastern hat. LOL

Rant on Canadian wolf pelts- I have this beautiful white arctic skin, mountable, but the trapper peeled the lower half of the ears. So I have to be extra careful gluing the ear liners in and do alot of grooming of what inner ear fur there is. They turned the ears too LOL, and split the lips, so taxidermy was in mind when they prepped it- but for that ear oopsy.

Nice job forestman. Love to see the grinners. I have collected much cash over the years with them. Great mix of fur. I like to see the ears on k9s up and in shape.

Well to take a guess at cat prices you would have to tell us where they came from. Are these from last year? If they are I know you went to the NAFA sale so do you think the NS on cats bring more money?

To each there own I guess... I don't care for the looks of those tucked ears at all. Guess if they were always handled that way for years it may not look so odd. Just one of those things for me, the ears showing and standing up completes the fur..
Why worry about removing the cartilage? Read of others over the years doing this as well.
As far as the front legs, cut the hide off just above the elbow joint. This is what I do anyhow. They don't need tucked.
