beaver ???

ok so i found a beaver dam alot of old cutting around hut in the middle but no beavers. its not froze over and i got a 330 set in the drainage that feeds it they have a nice channel wore in from going up and down it. question is theres a crick about 200 yrds from the dam will they leave there dam and live in the crick during winter theres old cutting down along the crick as well but no hut that i could see? man i thought beaver were suposed to b easy to catch if u found sign of them got plenty of sign but no beavers. ps did look all around didnt see any tracks on the ice or banks at dam or crick. thank u for any and all help first time for beavers learning as i go.

If there is sign something made the sign.
If you find sign of beavers,they are there just because you don't see the animal doesn't mean they aren't there.

lots of people think they are easy to trap . the first one or two are easier ,however once a few family members disappear they can get smart in a hurry .

if you think there is a possibility that they are in the creek make a few sets in there , in another 6 weeks any beaver within a few miles will likely be checking out any old lodges . love will be in the air .
