coyote sets

I am not concerned about it the rest of this year but if anyone could give me some pointers or names of videos to watch on how to utilize dirthole sets for coyotes that would be great. I am not familiar to what a scent post means or does.

Re: coyote sets

Mark June's coyote dvd's are very educational. Bed the trap pan back from the hole 9 inches, offset to the right or left (doesn't matter which) 3 inches. Use multiple smells/lures, use a very small amount of lure, check from a distance, dig the dirt hole deep (I like 14" deep). Be confident in your equipment, do nothing to the set until you make a catch. Coyote sets are like wine, they get better with age. Blend your sets in, have the mentality that you are trying to hide the set from the yote. Give it time!

I'll keep my money, guns, ammo, and health care; you can keep your change

Re: coyote sets

in my experience, if you learn to make post sets and flat sets you'll catch more coyotes than with a dirthole i do't know of any vids in particular, but if you search it on you tube you'll find some. If you want to buy some dvd's, go to minnesota trapline products and search dvd's by topic. there should be some dvd's on making flat sets

Animalistics is all from PA. Big woods and fields, dirt and snow.
